What a whirl-wind the last month has been here at Rush HQ. On location with Stylist Magazine and Ford Fiesta, backstage at (the first ever) Stylist Live and meeting lots of lovely new people, especially fashion blogger Sarah Mikaela; who like us, has been incredibly excited to get our hands on this week’s Stylist Magazine. Why? Because we have had the ultimate privilege of contributing to the three exciting cover wraps of this week’s Stylist Magazine!

Pursuit of the #FiestaStylista – the competition
On an early September morning, four young and aspiring fashionistas, three creative Rush Hair stylists, two make-up artists. three beautiful models and the brilliant team at Stylist and Ford Fiesta joined forces in London to create this week’s Stylist Magazine covers. In pursuit of the next big thing in fashion styling, Ford Fiesta’s competition entrants were whittled down to the four creative finalists, who were tasked to create a fashion collection inspired by the following themes: Sweet + Sour, Decor Dressing and 80’s Glam.
Each look was completed with the perfect hair style, sculpted by our visionary stylists; Baek Seung Ki, Sophie Chandler and Charlotte Oldfield. Inspired by the three themes, these bright sparks created a slicked-backed, red ombre style for Sweet + Sour, a head-turning, bouncy wave to complement the Decor Dressing looks, and a big, bouncy afro for 80’s Glam.
After three busy days, lots of coffee, creativity and laughter; that was a wrap!
The first Stylist Live
The #FiestaStylista catwalk
The heady delight continued with lots of preparation at Rush, Ford and Stylist HQ to bring the stylists wraps to life at the first Stylist Live event last week. From Thursday 15th October – Sunday 18th October 2015, the Business Design Center in Islington London, opened it’s doors to the first ever Stylist Live event… and the people came in their droves. Savvy hair, beauty and fashion mavens flocked to Stylist Live to experience the magazine come to life, hosted by Dawn O’Porter and Edith Bowmen.
Rush joined Ford Fiesta and Stylist Magazine on the Fiesta Stylista stage, where we had four Rush Hair Braid Bars. Our creative team of stylists provided visitors with complimentary braiding and hair consultation for the four days, and my was it busy!
Our inspiring Editorial Director, Tina Farey and Session Stylist James Oxley, presented their Hair Trends talk and gave live demonstrations to eager visitors throughout the day, on how to achieve the hottest runway braid.
What’s more the four budding fashion stylists, Olivia, Jessica, Joolie and of course, Sarah Mikaela showcased their three looks throughout the day, in competition to become the Fiesta Stylista winner, including the three cover wraps of today’s Stylist Magazine, £10,000 prize money to support them in the next step of their career and an all-expenses-paid-for trip to New York Fashion Week next year. Jealous much?
The models looked fabulous; their colourful, considered outfits and beautiful, head-turning hairstyles made for an exciting show.
Backstage sneak peaks
Whilst the amazing braiding teams worked eagerly on stage at the Braid Bar; our backstage team, fueled by their passion, ingenuity (and a little bit of coffee) created outstanding styles for the catwalk shows. In keeping with the original cover wrap shoot, Tina Farey, Baek Seung Ki, Sophie Chandler and Chris Donohoe recreated these breathtaking styles for every show over the four days.
