Choosing The Right Kérastase

Over the last couple of years, the Kérastase brand has been growing more popular amongst women and men of all ages. Why, you ask? Kérastase offers luxury & professional hair care from the comfort of your home. However, there is often some confusion on which range is right for a specific type of hair. Our Rush Shop editors have compiled the Kérastase bible to tell you exactly which Kérastase range is suitable for your hair so you can shop away and get the care that your hair needs.

The Kérastase Nutritive Line

The Nutritive range is the most popular from the Kérastase selection and is one of our best sellers. If your hair is dry and in need of nourishment then this is the perfect line for you. Whether you have thick or thin hair, excessively or slightly dry hair you will find a suitable product for you from the Nutritive range.

For those that have thick, excessively dry and rebellious hair, then the Kérastase Oleo Relax shampoo is the solution for you. This product is especially good if you suffer from frizzy hair as it smoothes hair and detangles from the first wash providing intense nourishment and a soft, silky feel.

Curly heads also have a shampoo that is targeted for their curls. The Nutri Bain Oleo Curls the ideal shampoo for curly hair as it will give your curls definition leaving them feeling soft and looking bouncy.

Our editors are often questioned on the difference between the Kérastase Bain Satin 1 and the Kérastase Bain Satin 2 shampoos. If you have normal to slightly dry hair then the Kérastase shampoo you should choose is  Bain Satin 1; for those that have dry and sensitised hair, the Bain Satin 2 is more suitable. If your hair is prone to damage, brittle and is in need of treatment then your hair is likely to be ‘sensitised’ and very dry. The Kérastase Nutri-Thermique shampoo is full of intense nourishment and will restore a soft and silky touch to your hair.

The Resistance Range

This is another of our popular range which targets damaged or fine hair. However, there is a danger when using Kérastase Resistance as it could produce negative effects as opposed to the ones you were aiming for. This is because the Resistance range includes an ingredient which specifically targets damaged hair however, if overused it could result in dry hair.

For this reason it is important to understand the condition of your hair. It could be that your hair is slightly dry rather than actually damaged in which case you will need to use the Nutritive range. If your hair breaks easily and you find that it is constantly falling out then your hair is likely to be damaged. To treat this you will need to use Kérastase Resistance Bain Force Architecte which aims to rebuild and strengthen the hair fibers as well as preventing from further damage or breakage.

Along with this range comes a treatment which is a perfect addition for users of the Resistance range; this is the Masque Force Architecte. This masque is to be used once a week to give intense treatment and protection to damaged hair.

The Resistance range is also suitable for those that have fine hair. For this type of hair though, it is more ideal to use a conditioner rather than an intense masque. Use Kérastase Ciment Anti-Usure after cleansing to help detangle hair and prevent split ends.

Also suitable for fine hair is the Kérastase Volumfique range which falls under the Resistance range too. This helps to control frizz and provide volume without being heavy on the roots. It provides a light weight structure and body which is most ideal for fine hair.

The Cristalliste range

The Cristalliste Bain Cristal Fins shampoo is specifically targeted at those that have long, fine hair. The shampoo purifies roots and keeps the ends looking polished and clean and leaves hair looking and feeling noticeably silky and full of shine. For thick hair it is better to use Cristalliste Bain Cristal Epais Thick followed by Lait Cristal which conditions the hair without adding weight onto the roots.

Why is this line so popular and highly regarded by the team? If you’re like our editor Nicole who suffers from greasy roots, Kérastase Cristalliste stops that from the first use – “it’s incredibly light-weight and is the first product I’ve found that means on Day two, I don’t have to have a ‘hair-up day!'”

Elixir Ultime Collection

The luxurious Elixir Ultime collection is suitable for all hair types. Kérastase Bain Elixir Ultime leaves the hair full of shine and nourishment with noticeably soft to the touch feel. It consists of a mix of Camellia Oil & Argan Oil which restores strength to the hair giving it an incredible shine at the same time.

Like with all the other Kérastase lines, the Elixir Ultime also has a masque in its beauty regime which is the Masque Elixir Ultime. This masque focuses on giving the hair an ultimate shine as well as reviving its natural strength and providing nourishment.

Specifique Range

This is the range that targets dandruff and thinning hair. Dandruff can be a result of many reasons such as a dry scalp or simply using a product that is not suitable for your hair. For this reason Kérastase have produced the Specifique range that specifically targets scalp concerns. This range covers issues from hair loss, dehydrated scalps to scalp prone oiliness.

Kérastase Reflection

For those that have been long in search of shine, look no further than the Kérastase Reflection range. This line boasts to be the first light reflecting hair care from Kérastase that also transforms each hair fibre to reveal mirror like shine.

This line is especially ideal for coloured hair that is in need of some life. You will find a combination of products that will help lift your colour to bring it back to life and provide the ultimate shine from the comfort of your own home.

Pour Homme

For the special man in your life, there is also a range to get professional hair care at home. Kérastase Homme provides solutions for men that have different hair concerns. With each shampoo, Kérastase have paired up a leave-in spray to enhance the effect of each target of the shampoo.

For men that are fighting dandruff, there is Kérastase Homme Capital Force Anti-Dandruff Effect. This shampoo helps to restore the natural look and texture of the hair as well as reducing visible dandruff.

Densifying Effect

Our best seller for men is the Kérastase Capital Force Densifying Effect Shampoo along with its leave-in spray that provides the hair with density as well as ensuring the scalp is feeling revitalised.

To get the full effect of each of the Kérastase lines, it is more ideal to try out the full range rather than just an individual product as this will help enhance the effects and drive better results faster.
